Where are you located and what are your opening hours?

The showroom is located at 6 Malden Road, Belsize Park, London, NW5 3HR. The nearest tube is Chalk Farm.

We are open Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm - 6pm, and Sunday from 12pm - 5pm. Mondays and Tuesdays are by appointment only.

If you would like to view an item outside of these hours you are welcome to contact us to arrange a private viewing.

The storage unit where we keep part of our stock is also located near the showroom. The full address will be available to you after you contact us.


Where does the name GROUND ONE SIX come from?

My fashion studio for six years was located in a Victorian warehouse in Clerkenwell – on the ground floor of number 16.

I began to deal in furniture, and needed a name, so settled on GROUND ONE SIX.

The name allowed me step away from the fashion connotations of my own name - and also is much easier to pronounce!

The building, Panther House, was a creative hub - full of jewellers, designers, and artists. Sadly, it has since been sold for redevelopment.


Do you deliver?

We can provide a comprehensive delivery service to destinations both nationwide and worldwide with specialist furniture couriers.

We are happy to discuss shipping requirements prior to purchase.

Delivery costs for furniture vary depending on the size of the item.

Delivery costs within M25 varies according to size from £40 - £70.

My country is part of the European Union, how will Brexit affect shipping?

We are currently updating our Terms and Conditions in light of Brexit. Please be patient, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!


What is your returns / refund policy?

We are happy to offer our customers a refund or exchange on all items if it doesn't meet the Consumers Rights Act 2015 criteria, please check our T&C. As part of our returns policy we must be informed, in written form (for example by letter, fax or e-mail), within 48 hours from the date of delivery.

We want you to acknowledge that by return of the products, we retain twenty percent of the products’ value, as we bear the storage and resale expenses (restocking charges). Customized products and items bought in person in our studio unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose cannot be subject to return.

All items for a price over Two Thousand British Pound Sterling are considered “special order”. We only make refunds for the returned special order products if your products have been resold (we put these products in the “All Products” category, for reduced or original prices).

Return postal, shipping, or courier charges are incurred at the customer’s own expense. All initial shipping costs, including packing and insurance, are non-refundable.


Are your items new or second hand?

The majority of our products are 20th century designs dating from 1900s through to the 1980s, although Yannis’ favourite decade is the 1970s.

All vintage items are sourced carefully by Yannis in the UK or abroad. Yannis also selectively handpicks a range of new designs and artists.


Do you offer a sourcing service?

Yes, Yannis is happy to work with your wish list and source anything that you are trying to track down.

Lead times vary from between 2 - 8 weeks, depending on the request.


Are you hiring your products?

Yes, most of the products that you see featured on our website are available for hire - for press photoshoots, film sets, or styling props.

If you have a feature, shoot, or event that requires unique and distinctive items, please just get in touch. Any of our products are available to view by appointment.

Do you offer an upholstery service?

Yes! We offer an independent, friendly and professional upholstery service in our central London workshop. We specialize in modern upholstery with extensive experience in working with mid-century furniture and classic styles.

We stock an extensive range of upholstery fabrics to choose from by Romo, Designers Guild, Moon, Elitis, Gaston Y Daniela, Le Grin, Metaphores, Verel De Belval, and many more. 

If you have a much-loved piece of furniture you would like us to renovate, please send an e-mail with some pictures and we can send you a quote. Or simply ask us to e-email you our available frames.


Do you offer a restoration service?

Yes, we specialise in the restoration of mid-century furniture and classic designs. We can refinish tables, desks, sideboards, cabinets, and chairs with damage, scratches and watermarks to their original state or to your requirements.

Do you make bespoke pieces or upcycle them?

Yes, we offer the option of upcycling products if it is something we can do ourselves. Otherwise, we work with a team of professionals inside and outside London that on certain occasions can offer brand-new bespoke made products.


Do you buy furniture from private sellers? 

Yes, we do! If you have an item that you feel would suit our selection of products and you would like to sell on we can certainly assist you. Please email us with photographs of your item.
